Antique Chinese wedding basket, octagonal, second half of the 19th century

A truly antique Chinese wedding basket made of boxwood, bamboo, gold leaf, brass and Chinese lacquer. Beautifully painted with floral and figurative designs. These baskets were presented to the wedding couple filled with culinary delicacies. Everything you need to fortify yourself on your wedding night.
Condition: Good condition for its age, no major damage or missing parts. But of course there are significant signs of wear, which give the basket a very beautiful patina.
