This small tobacco pot from the 19th century was made in the Netherlands using barrel construction. It consists of 21 staves (longitudinal pieces of wood) of various types of wood (including tropical hardwood) and is held together at the top and bottom by a brass ring. The lid also features a decorative border made of different types of wood and, of course, a turned handle.
