Antique jardinière, Vienna Secession, ARGENTOR, 1890–1910

This jardinière is a prime example of geometric Viennese Art Nouveau (Koloman Moser, Wiener Werkstätten, etc.) and was manufactured by the Viennese company Argentorwerke Rust & Hetzel. The jardinière is made of silver-plated alpaca and cut crystal glass (original glass insert). Characteristic features include the geometric wave and circular motifs, as well as the side handles on the metal frame. The maker’s mark (Argentor) is located on the base. Condition: Good condition; the original glass insert is undamaged; the metal frame shows slight signs of wear.
