Antique box, tea caddy / spice box, George III, 1780–1810

A well-preserved box dating from between 1780 and 1810 (bracket feet and band hinges) with a matching key and a fully functional original lock. Given its four internal compartments, it may also have been used as a spice box rather than necessarily for storing tea, which was a precious commodity at the time.
Condition: Good condition – all hinges secure, lock works, no major damage and a wonderful aged patina with appropriate signs of wear.
