A very attractive chest dating from the time when India was still a British colony. The chest is handcrafted and hand-painted. An old newspaper from 1908 has been glued into the base (which we have left in place as it is part of the chest’s history). There is a small storage compartment on the inside left. We suspect that the chest was taken back to Britain by British colonial personnel. Condition: The chest has a distinct, charming patina. A stress crack in the lid was professionally repaired at the time. All joints and hinges are firm and stable. Dimensions: Width 51 cm, Height 25 cm, Depth 28 cm
