This pretty little lorgnette, also known as a face-a-main, dates from around 1900. The handle is made of silver decorated with enamel garlands and marcasite. There is a maker's mark on the ring, which we are unable to identify. The small lever on the stem activates the folding mechanism. Condition: Very good condition for its age. Lenses undamaged, folding mechanism works perfectly. Dimensions: Length when folded 11 cm, length when unfolded 15.5 cm, weight 22 grams
