This box, which is around 120 years old, was made from tortoiseshell. When the lid is opened, a finely crafted bone rim is revealed. The interior is lined with a type of felt. The four feet were turned from wood. This is a very beautiful piece of craftsmanship, but the material is also very delicate. Given its age, damage is almost inevitable. The box has damage to the back of the right hinge, which has been repaired but is clearly visible. In addition, the mount on the lid is damaged (missing). However, it still functions properly. We are offering this box at a very reasonable price due to the aforementioned damage. Condition: as described above and see photos. Dimensions: height 5 cm, width 16 cm, depth 8 cm
